Sauna Maintenance & Repair Done Right

Los Angeles Sauna maintains and repairs saunas across Los Angeles — ours and others. Annual maintenance, heater diagnostics and repair, stone replacement, wood refinishing, vapor barrier and vent service, door and glass repair, and full bench rebuilds. Most service calls are completed in a single visit.

How We Work

From the first design consult to the first löyly, one project manager runs your build.

1. Inspection & written report

We inspect the room, the heater, the vapor barrier (where visible), the venting, the electrical, the wood condition, and the door seal. You get a written report with photos and a prioritized list of recommendations.

2. Service & repair

Common service items handled on site — replacement stones, heater element swap, thermostat repair, bench sanding and oil, board replacement, vent cleaning, door glass replacement, and lighting fixes. Most service calls finish in a single visit.

3. Annual maintenance plan

We offer an annual maintenance visit — wood refresh, stone rotation, heater cleaning, vapor barrier check, and operation test — so your sauna stays in shape long-term.

When You Need Sauna Maintenance & Repair

Call us for maintenance when:

  • Heater isn’t hitting temperature — could be elements, thermostat, or stones. Diagnosed on site, repaired same visit on common heater brands.
  • Stones are crumbling or discolored — sauna stones break down over time (especially with frequent water on the rocks) and need replacement every 2–4 years.
  • Wood is darkening, splintering, or showing water marks — periodic sanding, paraffin oil, or partial board replacement restores the wood.
  • Smell or musty air — usually a venting issue. We inspect intake and exhaust, clear blockages, and re-balance airflow.
  • Door doesn’t seal or glass is cracked — we replace glass panels, hinges, magnetic catches, and full doors.
  • Annual checkup — even if nothing’s broken, an annual inspection catches small issues before they become expensive ones.

When You Need Sauna Maintenance & Repair

What Affects the Cost of Sauna Maintenance & Repair

Sauna service pricing is per scope. Depends on:

  • Service type. Annual maintenance is a flat fee. Heater repair, stone replacement, and wood refinishing are per-job estimates.
  • Parts. Replacement stones, heater elements, glass panels, and door hardware are billed at cost.
  • Wood condition. Sanding and oiling is fast. Board-by-board replacement of damaged tongue-and-groove takes longer, especially if the boards are discontinued.
  • Access. Indoor service is straightforward. Rooftop or backyard saunas with tight access add minor labor.
  • Brand. We stock parts for the most common heater brands. Niche or imported heaters may require ordering and longer turnaround.
  • Annual plan. Maintenance plans are billed annually at a flat rate and include one inspection visit plus discounted parts and labor on any in-year service.

Most service quotes are firm after a short photo review. We don't surprise you on day-of.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often does a sauna need maintenance?

An annual inspection is ideal — catches venting issues, board separation, and heater wear early. Stones should be rotated yearly and replaced every 2–4 years. Wood should be sanded and oiled every 1–3 years depending on use.

My heater won't turn on — what's wrong?

Most often a tripped breaker, a failed thermostat, or a burned-out heating element. We diagnose on site and repair nearly every major heater brand in a single visit.

Can you service a sauna you didn't build?

Yes — most of our service work is on saunas we didn’t originally build. Bring us the brand and we’ll service it.

How often should I replace the stones?

Every 2–4 years depending on use and how often you throw water on them. Cracking, crumbling, or visible discoloration are signs it’s time. We supply and install the right stone type for your heater model.

Do you offer an annual maintenance plan?

Yes. Our annual plan includes one full inspection visit, wood refresh, stone rotation, vent and heater check, plus discounted parts and labor on any repair during the year.
