Sauna Kit Assembly & Build Done Right
Los Angeles Sauna assembles pre-fab sauna kits at homes across Los Angeles. We help you pick the right kit (or work with whatever you've already ordered), receive and inventory the shipment, build the foundation or rough-in, assemble per manufacturer spec, hook up the electrical, and finish trim and venting details. Most kits are complete in 3–7 days on site once materials arrive.
How We Work
From the first design consult to the first löyly, one project manager runs your build.
1. Kit selection or inventory
If you haven’t picked a kit yet, we walk you through the options — we work with nearly every major sauna kit brand, from domestic and designer to shipped-from-Finland imports. If you’ve already ordered, we inventory the shipment when it arrives, flag missing pieces, and coordinate replacement parts.
2. Foundation, framing & electrical rough-in
We prep the space — indoor rough-in or outdoor pad/footings — set the dedicated 240V circuit per kit spec, and ready the vents. Permits handled.
3. Assembly, heater install & first heat-up
Our crew assembles the kit per manufacturer instructions, mounts the heater, sets the stones, installs the door and glass, finishes interior trim, and runs the first heat-up to cure the wood. We hand over operation instructions and any manufacturer warranty paperwork.
When You Need Sauna Kit Assembly & Build
Hiring a builder for your kit assembly is the right call when:
- You bought a kit but the instructions are intimidating — many premium kits ship as flat-pack with hundreds of parts and Finnish-language diagrams.
- You need the electrical done right — kit heaters need a dedicated 30–60A circuit and a licensed electrician’s tie-in.
- You need a permit pulled — most cities including Los Angeles require a building or electrical permit even for kit installs.
- You want a custom rough-in to receive the kit — closet conversions, basement build-outs, or outdoor pads need framing and prep before the kit arrives.
- You want the venting done correctly — kits assume you’ll cut intake and exhaust vents that connect to your room — done wrong, you get poor heat and stale air.
- You want a finished, trimmed-out look — kits don’t include floor moldings, exterior trim, exterior cladding for outdoor builds, or aesthetic upgrades.

What Affects the Cost of Sauna Kit Assembly & Build
Kit assembly pricing depends on the kit, the prep, and the venue. Factors include:
- Kit size and brand. A small 2-person barrel takes about half the time of a 6-person cabin. Premium designer kits have more parts and tighter tolerances than entry-level barrels.
- Indoor vs outdoor. Indoor kits assume a finished space and just need vent cuts, electrical, and assembly. Outdoor kits need a pad, foundation, weather sealing, and exterior trim.
- Electrical run. If the panel is nearby, the dedicated 240V run is cheap. Long runs through walls and outdoor trenching cost more.
- Permits. Los Angeles electrical and building permits are flat fees we include.
- Rough-in. If you need a closet framed, a basement bumped out, or a pad poured before assembly, that’s a separate line item we quote up front.
- Finish details. Floor trim, exterior cladding, custom benches, lighting upgrades, and audio installs all add line items.
We quote kit assemblies flat-rate after a short site walk — electrical, permits, and first heat-up included.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you assemble a kit I already bought?
Yes — that’s most of our kit work. Send us the brand, model, and the location it’s going in. We’ll quote assembly, rough-in, electrical, and permits flat-rate.
Which sauna kit brand do you recommend?
Depends on budget and use. We carry a wide range of kits with nearly every major brand available — designer-grade imports, value-priced outdoor barrels and cabins, and solid domestic mid-range options. We’ll walk through the tradeoffs and help you pick on the design call.
How long does a kit assembly take?
Most indoor kits assemble in 3–5 days once materials are on site. Outdoor cabins take 5–10 days with foundation and weather sealing. Delays usually come from missing parts in the shipment — we inventory on arrival to catch this early.
Do I still need a permit for a kit?
Yes, almost always. Los Angeles requires an electrical permit for the dedicated circuit and usually a building permit for the structure. We pull all permits.
Will my manufacturer warranty stay valid?
Yes — we build to manufacturer spec, document the install, and provide photos and receipts so your warranty registration is clean. We’re authorized installers for several major brands.
