Sauna Kit Assembly Done Right
A sauna kit gets you the wood and the heater. It does not get you a permit, a dedicated circuit, a level base, cut vents or someone to work out why three panels do not meet. We assemble kits from every major brand, domestic, designer and shipped from Finland, whether you bought it already or want help choosing. We receive and inventory the shipment when it lands, flag missing or damaged parts early enough to matter, prep or frame the space, run the electrical, assemble strictly to manufacturer specification so your warranty stays valid, cut and fit the intake and exhaust venting, finish the trim the kit does not include, and run the first heat cycle. Most indoor kits are finished in three to five days on site. Outdoor cabins with a base take five to ten.
How We Work
From the first design consult to the first löyly, one project manager runs your build.
1. Selection or shipment inventory
If you have not bought yet we walk you through the brands and what separates them. If you have, we take delivery, inventory every part against the manifest, and open the replacement-part conversation with the manufacturer immediately rather than on assembly day.
2. Base, rough-in and electrical
Indoor rough-in or an outdoor pad or footings, the dedicated 240V circuit run to the kit specification, and the intake and exhaust vent openings cut and framed. Permits pulled and rough inspection passed.
3. Assembly, heater and first burn
Assembled to manufacturer instructions, heater mounted and stones set, door and glass hung and adjusted, interior and exterior trim finished. Curing burn run, temperature verified, and the install documented with photos and receipts for your warranty registration.
When You Need Sauna Kit Assembly
Hiring a builder for your kit makes sense when:
- The instructions are not helping. Premium kits arrive as hundreds of flat-packed parts with diagrams translated once too often.
- The electrical has to be right. Kit heaters need a dedicated 30 to 60 amp circuit and a licensed tie-in, which is not a weekend job.
- A permit is required. Los Angeles wants an electrical permit for the circuit and usually a building permit for the structure, kit or not.
- The space needs prep first. Closet conversions, basement build-outs and outdoor pads all have to be ready before the kit can go up.
- The venting has to be cut. Kits assume you will cut intake and exhaust into your own room. Done wrong you get stale air and a cold floor.
- You want it to look finished. Kits omit floor moulding, exterior trim, outdoor cladding and the details that make it look built rather than assembled.

What Affects the Cost of Sauna Kit Assembly
Assembly pricing depends on the kit and how much preparation the space needs:
- Kit size and brand. A small two-person barrel is roughly half the labour of a six-person cabin. Designer kits have more parts and tighter tolerances.
- Indoor or outdoor. Indoor kits need vent cuts, electrical and assembly. Outdoor kits add a base, weather sealing and exterior trim.
- Electrical run. Short runs to a nearby panel are inexpensive. Long runs through finished walls or trenched outdoors are not.
- Rough-in scope. Framing a closet, opening a basement wall or pouring a pad before assembly is quoted separately and up front.
- Permits. Electrical and building permit fees, included in the quote rather than added later.
- Finish details. Trim, cladding, upgraded benches, lighting and audio are all optional line items.
Kit assemblies are quoted flat-rate after a short site walk, with electrical, permits and first heat-up included.

Can you assemble a kit I already bought?
Yes, and it is most of our kit work. Send us the brand, the model and where it is going. We quote assembly, rough-in, electrical and permits flat-rate, take delivery of the shipment, and inventory it against the manifest before assembly day so missing parts do not stall the job.
Which sauna kit brand should I choose?
It depends on where you are putting it and what you want from it. Designer imports have the best joinery and the best glass. Mid-range domestic kits are the value sweet spot for an indoor room. Outdoor barrels and cabins vary enormously in stave thickness and hardware quality, which is what separates the ones that last from the ones that do not. We are not tied to a brand, so we will tell you what actually differs between the ones you are considering.
Will my manufacturer warranty stay valid?
Yes. We build to manufacturer specification, use the supplied hardware, have the electrical done by a licensed electrician under permit, and document the install with photos and receipts so your warranty registration is clean. Most warranty disputes we see come from DIY installs with substituted fasteners or unpermitted wiring.
How long does kit assembly take?
Most indoor kits go up in three to five days once everything is on site. Outdoor cabins with a base and weather sealing run five to ten. The delays are almost always missing or damaged parts in the shipment, which is exactly why we inventory on arrival rather than on the first day of assembly.
Is a kit cheaper than a custom build?
On materials, usually yes. On total installed cost the gap is smaller than people expect, because the base, the electrical, the venting, the permit and the trim are the same work either way. Kits make most sense when the space is a simple rectangle and you like what the kit looks like. Once you start modifying a kit to fit an awkward room, a custom build is often both better and no more expensive.
